In Tokyo talking impact science journalism

On November 21, I had the honour of addressing a room full of editors and senior staff from news outlets across Asia on the topic of impact science journalism. Hosted in Tokyo by the World Federation of Science Journalists (WFSJ) and Japanese Association of Science Journalists, the aim of the conference was to get editors thinking about how to support more critical and investigative science reporting at home. Our meeting was part of a WFSJ mentoring project called SjCOOP Asia, which brings together budding science writers with senior reporters. You can read more about SjCOOP here.
